Dr. Jennifer Cork will review the history of treatment and care for the ID community and how this has led to a lack of understanding and resources to meet their mental health needs. The presentation will then review symptoms of common mental health diagnoses in the IDD community and how presentation of these symptoms may differ in IDD youth and adults. Finally, Dr. Cork will review specific skills to support mental health in this population as well as additional resources for continued study.
