Clinically Addressing Systemic Oppression

Objectives: 1. Understand the biology of implicit bias, and its connection to both trauma and oppression. 2. Learn how to clinically address symptoms of systemic oppression in therapy sessions. Additional course description The effects of trauma and systemic oppression show up everyday in a clinical setting. Often, providers are not aware when these themes show up, or how to best direct the session for optimal healing. In this workshop, you will learn about the connection between trauma and oppression, and why these themes show up so frequently but are often poorly addressed. You will learn how to recognize these themes, as well as practice skills that can release and settle stored trauma. These skills are intended to be accessible across culture and economic status. Jayden Aubryn is a Black, Indigenous, queer, nonbinary, AuDHD psychotherapist, personal trainer, and consultant. They are the founder of TISE Consulting and Therapy and the co-founder of Chaotic Healing. They specialize in holistically healing complex trauma by integrating mental, physical, sexual, and spiritual health. They aim to make healing fun and accessible by using food, movement, music, art, and BDSM. This is part of the Bite-Sized CE Series.
