Objectives: 1. Participants will be able to describe the six core ethical principles and apply their significance in behavioral health practice. 2. Participants will formulate the steps necessary to create an ethical decision-making model and apply it to case examples. Description: This comprehensive training session is designed to empower behavioral health professionals with a deeper understanding of ethical principles and the importance of an established ethical decision-making model. Participants will lean into the six-core ethical and moral principles: nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, autonomy, fidelity, and veracity, and understand the role that each play in guiding behavior health practice. Additionally, the training will provide practical steps to develop and implement an ethical decision-making model, that will ensure professionals are prepared to navigate the complex waters of ethical practice. BIO: Jodi Ann Geis-Crowder is a seasoned behavioral health professional with 27 years of experience serving rural communities in Northeast Colorado and Wyoming. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, and a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, along with professional counseling and teaching licenses in Colorado and Wyoming. A pioneer in culturally meaningful care, Jodi introduced animal-assisted therapy and therapeutic horticulture programs in behavioral health settings. She currently serves as a clinical supervisor and trainer for Volunteers of America Northern Rockies and offers expert webinars and training through her own business, JGC Enterprises, LLC. Passionate about art, Jodi is also a watercolor artist and photographer, showcasing her work as a member of the Sagebrush Artisans. This is part of the Bite-Sized CE Series.
