Description

Objectives -Critically assess the impact of intersectional identities on supervision. -Apply queer-informed frameworks to navigate ethical challenges in supervision. Description This training introduces mental health professionals to a queer and intersectional framework for clinical supervision. Far beyond self-disclosure or identity alignment, this approach invites supervisors to critically examine how power, privilege, and systemic oppression shape both the supervisory relationship and broader therapeutic practice. Grounded in queer theory, feminist ethics, and intersectional praxis, this training offers a liberatory reimagining of supervision rooted in relational authenticity and cultural humility. Bio Leah Post (she/they) is a clinical social worker, educator, and trainer with over 15 years of experience in community mental health, public health, and clinical supervision. She is the founder of Perfectly Queer Counseling, a small group practice in Washington State that provides LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, supervision, consultation and professional development support. In addition to her work in private practice, Leah has extensive experience creating, transforming and leading programs focused on HIV and STI prevention, sexual health education and trauma-informed care for underserved communities. Their clinical work and supervision style are rooted in social justice, relational ethics, and an awareness of how systems of power impact both clients and clinicians.
