Description
Description:
Many therapists incorrectly assume that participation in protests or activism in their personal lives will not affect their professional role if clients are not directly impacted. While ethical codes often encourage advocacy, clinicians must also understand how protesting may intersect with laws, ethical standards, workplace policies, and licensure considerations. This training will explore potential professional and licensure-related risks, as well as the impact protest involvement may have on therapeutic relationships and public perception.
Objectives:
-Identify three potential risks associated with protest participation that may impact professional roles or licensure.
-Compare relevant laws, ethical codes, and licensure policies related to protest activity and professional conduct.
-Differentiate between types of protest activities and assess varying levels of professional and licensure-related risk.
