Description

Objectives
Objective 1: Learn how to introduce conversations around sex and sexual health in a therapeutic setting.
Objective 2: Describe the social determinants of health and their impact.
Objective 3: Identify common missed opportunities when clients reference sex or sexual health in therapy.

Description
Therapists are often the first trusted professionals clients turn to with questions about sex — yet many clinicians receive little formal training in sexual health. This presentation provides the essential knowledge every therapist needs, covering the basics of anatomy, sexual response, contraception, STIs, and reproductive health across the lifespan. Participants will explore common myths and misconceptions, practice using accurate and inclusive language, and learn how to confidently integrate sexual health education into their clinical work. By the end of the session, therapists will feel prepared to answer questions, dispel misinformation, and support clients in making informed, empowered decisions about their sexual well-being.
